The format varies slightly from year to year and involves a lot of spontaneous evocations but there is always the purifying of the area with my sistrum, lighting the quarter candles and associated incense with suitable evocations, the burning of flowers collected in the light of dawn on summer solstice and some sort of prayer/encouragement for Ra to return to us.
This year seemed a little more special. It could be its the first time I've done it with snow on the ground, or maybe its just that I always look forward to the solstices.
But I thought I'd share this quick post ritual photo of my main ritual area this year.
I think doing your ritual outside was a beautiful idea!
